Kali Escrima Training Modules

Why Train in Kali Escrima:

Imp Note : Kali Escrima training covers weapon combat, hence this training is given only to selected students via private training.

Most military systems like Kapap, Krav Maga, Systema, etc have modified Kali Escrima as a mandatory element of their Hand to Hand combat & Weapon training. Dekiti Trisia Kali is one of the purest form Military FMA which goes beyond sports. Here’s why you should train in DTS system of Kali Escrima.

Top reasons to train DTS Kali Escrima:

  • Weapon Defense: Fighting with and against weapons is substantially different from unarmed fighting. A person can block a punch or a kick using their arm as a shield or cover. The same cannot be safely done against a machete or knife attack and would also be unwise even against a stick.
  • Realistic Approach: Only practical moves, no fancy or complicated moves that are likely to fail under duress. Even the forms (anyo) used by some Filipino systems are composed of actual fighting moves.
  • All Combat ranges: Cover all distances in which combat takes place: long range (kicking), middle range (boxing, elbowing, kneeing) and short range (grabbing, poking, biting and grappling).
  • Fitness with a Purpose: Energizing Cardio Workout - Involving all four limbs of the body at the same time an FMA drill is also a potent fat burner cardio workout.
  • Compliments other martial arts: FMA training doesn’t conflict with other martial arts styles; on the contrary it actually strengthens them. That includes kicking arts, hand-based arts, pure self-defense arts, and grappling and throwing arts.
  • Transferable Learning: Convert everyday objects like Keys, Forks, Water bottles into Self Defense weapon. Weapon training can be transferred to empty hand training.
