IWCA Featured in Chelsea Handler’s Show on Netflix w.r.t. Wing Chun in India

Chelsea Handler show season 2 episode 16 "Dear India". The episode “Dear India” showcases the colors of growing and changing India, i.e. not the poor and slum any more, but the real developing India. Today’s India where traditions and progress still goes hand in hand, where seeker still come for spiritual upliftment and where the knights are not in shining armors but common people who go out of their way to empower women... equipping them with Life Savings Skills of Self Defense.

The show begins with Chelsea, Actor Frieda Pinto, Comedian Tanmay and team share the dinner table discussing on the changing trends in India. What follows after that is a joy ride on one hand Chelsea relishes Irani Chai with Master Chef Vikas Khanna at Koolar & Co Irani Hotel, while on the other checks out Indian street food and bargains with the local bhajiwala like any other Indian woman. Understanding spiritual side while doing yagya at Bankhandi Mahadev Ashram with a Baba from Beverly hills’ who had arrived with just 20$ in Delhi and made India his home forever

Followed is a brief discussion with Actor Mallika Sherawat on Situation of Women in India and how social entrepreneurs going out of their way to empower women with self defense skills. IWCA team was invited by Chelsea Handler for her India Episode to recognize their work on Women's Self Defense programs which the team has been conducting for working women in NGOs and Corporates.

Mallika Sherawat got to learn Self Defense using Wing Chun from Sifu Shiv the founder and chief instructor of IWCA along with his top student Nilesh Sonar. Mallika Sherwat found Wing Chun to be the perfect martial arts for women and other people with smaller or weaker bodies.

Late Om Puri-ji learns Wing Chun at 66 years of age from IWCA

Late Om Puri-ji: Sifu Shiv has taught Wing Chun to Late veteran actor Om Puri ji. A trained Wrestler in younger days admired the Wing Chun’s unique power generation method using body mechanics. What surprised Om Puri-ji was that he could execute Wing Chun with full power despite his 66 years of age. Puri-ji believes Wing Chun is a self defense solution for people of any age group, even for elderly people.

IWCA’s Sifu Shiv trained Tapsi Pannu for the movie – Naam Shabana

Sifu Shiv’s personal wooden dummy is seen featured in movie “Naam Shabana”. The song “Zinda Hun” shows Tapsee Pannu practicing deadly wing chun moves on the wooden dummy. Sifu Shiv and his top student Nilesh Sonar trained Tapsee Pannu in the use of Wing Chun moves on the wooden dummy in a very effective and non injury prone methodology.

The Bold & Beautiful Rashi Mal learns Wing Chun

Rashi Mal is an actress, known for her roles in Brahmastra (2020), A.I.SHA: My Virtual Girlfriend (2016) and Time Out (2017). Rashi Mal has completed the level 1 & training level 2 of IWCA’s curriculum.
